When God gives you something you don’t want….

Has there ever been a time in your life when you received something you didn’t want? It could be something as simple as an unwanted toy as a child, or an invitation to an event, or maybe someone asked you on a date and you didn’t want to go… If you are at all human, which I suspect you are :), then one of these things has to apply or resonate with you somehow. I’m still here.

Last night, I , along with a few friends, volunteered for Food for the Hungry with the Toby Mac Hits Deep Tour. It was a huge line up: Hollyn, Ryan Stevenson, Matt Powell, Matt Meher, Mandisa, Diverse City, and Capital Kings….and of course Toby Mac. The music was phenomenal. Literally, being surrounded by that many people worshipping ONE God with one voice, was truly magnificent to witness. I’m so glad I was able to be a part of such a great event. EMDR therapy is hard. It’s a type of trauma therapy that my therapist is using on me to help with different events in my life. Before I go too far, I want you to know what exactly is EMDR therapy: Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing* involves eye movement or tactical stimulation to activate the opposite side of the brain that is “holding on” to memories, trauma, “triggers,” etc. Continue reading “EMDR”
