Turning 32 never felt so good…

I honestly forgot my birthday was this past Monday (3/20). I have been so busy with work and homeschool and my oldest’s birthday coming up, that it slipped my mind, until my husband reminded me. I guess turning a year older means my memory is going downhill that much faster.

My oldest son will turn 12 on the 29th, so I have been busy preparing his party. Plus, I have a client who is due, literally any day now, so I’ve been preoccupied with that, and then the normal every day homeschooling mom life. So it is no surprise that I forgot my own birthday. which is funny because, birthdays were such a big deal at my house growing up. My daddy would wake me up, singing “happy birthday to my little girl” every year, and as I grew older and moved away, he would call at 6am, and sing it to me every time. I think I miss that the most.

I was quite emotional, surprisingly, on my birthday. I was irritable and jumpy, edgy and shut off. Quite depressed, but not because I was turning 32. Age really doesn’t bother me at all. I’m sure my therapist will have his opinion of why, tomorrow when I see him. Regardless, my husband and kids made my  day great with a new camera, cards, and a chocolate “safe” cake covered in chocolate and strawberries. I ate the last piece tonight, happily.

So, I turned 32 on a Monday. I figured it was a good day to set some realistic goals for myself for the week. They included: applying for an EIN with the IRS, establishing my business with the state (which I had already done apparently), filing it as an SP, opening a business checking account, printing mileage reports, finishing a book and paper that was due, recording my first business YouTube video, and baking….lots of baking. I accomplished it all by Monday evening. (haha!) 32 seems to be shaping up quite nicely. I hope the rest of the year is as productive as this week has been for me. My YouTube video, which I will link later, is also on my website ( ). I started a doula blog on there as well….feel free to check it out and tell me what you think. It is all things doula related 🙂

For now, I’m on call, waiting for my FIRST girl baby to be born! (Thank God! The first ever girl….they’ve all been boys until now!) And busy building my business some more! Happy World Doula week to all my fellow doulas and student doulas! ❤

I am a child of God, first and foremost. Secondly I am a wife; very much ( and sometimes undeservingly) loved, by my husband Sam. And last, but most certainly not least, I am a mom to 3 beautiful boys: Mitchell, Andrew and Buddy. We homeschool, love family time, and enjoy helping others. I am also a doula. I love my work and love writing about it as well. I am very passionate about my beliefs, and my blogs tend to show that. Enjoy reading!
