The Ins and Outs of Homeschooling

This week has been really hard to homeschool. I have been sick and in bed all week long. And obviously, there isn’t a substitute teacher! That is a downside to hs. However, on the upside, we were able to hs in bed, after my hubby came home, at night….pretty much whenever I was up to it. All I have to do is tell Andrew to go get his {math, reading, spelling} book and come to wherever I am, with a pencil. Grant it, we didn’t cover everything we would normally cover. But we always cover the essentials–math, reading, and spelling. (Bible is a given). Plus this week, while stuck in bed, I was able to research a lot of new curricula and organize a play date, and join a few more online groups for hs families in our area.

Today, I finally made it out of the bed, and we ran some errands. One of which was to the local farmer’s market. I let the kids pick some fruit to buy, and explained what a “farmer’s market” actually was. Andrew was really excited. (Buddy gets excited about any and every thing). And finally, my mom is coming up tonight. Thank Jesus. Our house-warming party is Sunday, and since I’ve been sick, nothing is clean. NOTHING. So she is here to help.

We have an exciting weekend ahead. I’ll post more about it soon!

I am a child of God, first and foremost. Secondly I am a wife; very much ( and sometimes undeservingly) loved, by my husband Sam. And last, but most certainly not least, I am a mom to 3 beautiful boys: Mitchell, Andrew and Buddy. We homeschool, love family time, and enjoy helping others. I am also a doula. I love my work and love writing about it as well. I am very passionate about my beliefs, and my blogs tend to show that. Enjoy reading!
