I’ve never blogged before in my life. I have no idea why I started, other than the kids were getting on my nerves and I needed a release. (I will always be honest…to a fault).
So let’s start there. I have 3 kids. All boys. Mitchell is 10, Andrew is 8, and Buddy is 3. I homeschool Andrew, (and Buddy, when he feels it’s a good idea to pay attention). Mitchell is finishing up 4th grade in public school. My husband, Sam, works full time so that I am able to stay at home with the kids…..not sure if that was my idea or his………I’ll think more about that later. We have 2 dogs, both male labs. Are you getting the picture yet?
The only female located on the entire 2 acre lot is ME.
Just let that sink in…..I am surrounded by spiderman, batman, dinosaurs, trucks, cars (oh my gosh the number of cars!!!!), camouflage, football, basketball, pee on the toilet, pee on the floor, pee on the ceiling. And then of course, is the SMELL. Whew! If grown men don’t smell bad enough…..let me tell you, little boys do! Blech!! And no amount of vinegar, Clorox, laundry detergent, deodorant, or soap is going to get it out! And they are completely oblivious to it! Bless them (even the grown one!).
But regardless of the testosterone levels in my home, and the stink it procures, there is hope. The one thing I have learned, living with these boys, is that boys sure do love their momma! And at the end of the day, no matter how much they smell or fight or turn my house into “testosterone city”, all that matters is that they know they are loved. After all, we were made to love.
John 3:16 “For God so LOVED the world, that He sent His one and only Son. That whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”
